    When the first Reagan inaugural was hosted by Sinatra, the long-time
Gambino Hollywood asset many conspiracy theorists "got the message" as, no
doubt, did some of Reagan's more astute "Eastern Establishment" enemies!
The more cautious should read Moldea's Dark Victory for the details.
Apparently, Reagan, as a Music Corporation of America (MCA) employee,
achieved in Hollywood for Gambino via the Actor's Guild what "Bugsy"
Siegel had attempted through strong arm tactics for the Luciano/Lansky
combine.

Perhaps the Godfather II interspersion of scenes from Catholic Church
ritual and "Gambino" gangland murders were also meant to be a message
other than that of hypocrisy assumed by most viewers. Reagan's conversion
to Buckleyite conservatism, his epochal diplomatic recognition of the
Vatican, the Lexalt and Donovan mafia connection, the MCA dominated post
WWII TV fare of heroic personal violence, why Taylor Caldwell's right-wing
anti-banker novels made TV, Reagan's years as GE ideological spokesman,
NBC right-ward tilt after buy-out by GE, and much, much more begin to make
sense.

Also making sense from the Project pointof-view was the John Gotti
(Gambino) indictments that flowed from the Department of Justice as Reagan
lost influence via the Bush manipulated Iran-Contra affair, various
"sleaze factor" exposes, and the mounting deficit.

The book is a worth the price just for the picture of Sinatra, "the
Godfather" Gambino, "the Weasel" Fratiano, "nerves" Fusco, DePalma, etc.
in a happy shoulder-hugging backstage embrace.
